My Best Friend's Closet

A big HELLO to whoever is reading this! I hope you are in the best of spirits. 

On my newfound journey of rediscovery, I am making an effort to put myself 'out there' and try new things. I am also making an effort to get back to some of the basics. like Fashion. and more specifically, Styling. In this case the Styling takes place from within my best friend's closet. so I guess I'd actually call what I'm doing Closet Styling. yeah, Closet Styling! I like that! Some of you may not know this, but Styling happens to be one of my most cherished passions...although you'd never know it with how I let it fall by the way-side. Back when I was a child I loved piecing together my outfits for school. I'm talking about way back in Elementary! I also remember having no hold of my tongue when it came to critiquing my sister's outfit choices LOL! She wasn't much into Fashion, so I took it upon myself to be her Personal Stylist 😜. She's a creative talent in many other ways! It's low-key funny how simple things are when you're a child - all you know is that you like something and the reason you like it is because it brings you joy. You like it long before you even realize it could one day become a career and lead to a fancy title like 'Wardrobe Stylist'. I didn't realize the magnitude of what I loved back then. I wish I had. I admire (and am somewhat jealous) of the people who recognize and cultivate their talents early on in life. But better late than never, right?

My Best Friend's Closet centers around my bestie Esence's closet. Esence is gracious enough to not only extend her closet, but to also be my model and muse. Love you girl! because Esence is a fashionista I knew going into this that I'd have some really fun and unique Fashion pieces to play with! At this time, I am solely Styling looks from pieces she has on-hand. It's a challenge that I am so up for! The pictures below are from my first round of Closet Styling (I promise to get better at my photo-taking skills :) Minutes into playing in Esence's closet it was honestly like a light switch turned on in my head. My creative juices began to flow and I felt right at Home. like I was Home doing a puzzle. and with all puzzles we must take our time to make sure each piece fits together perfectly in order to bring it to life. A lil' bit of Logic + Vision + Love. My first Best Friend’s Closet Styling session was a success! It left me feeling inspired, and like I used a part of my brain that had been lying dormant. 

Cheers to Fashion, rejuvenation, inspiration, purpose, and anything that makes us feel good! We could all use a lil’ more good ❤

FashionAly Fangirling: Quinta Brunson

Hey peeps! How's it goin in your world? The first time I saw Quinta Brunson was while watching "A Black Lady Sketch Show" on HBO when it premiered season one. Shortly after I saw Quinta on her hit ABC series "Abbott Elementary". Both shows are delightful, and if you haven't heard of either you must be living under a rock! Just sayin. Seriously though, Abbott Elementary is one of my favorite shows these days. Like everyone else in the world I am anxiously awaiting season two. I get that classic feel-good vibe while watching. The same vibe I used to get while watching T.G.I.F shows back in the day. If you don't know, T.G.I.F - 'Thank God it's Friday' premiered back in the 90's on ABC. It was a weekly Friday night lineup of about 4 feel-good tv shows. *Trying hard not to age myself* I must humbly say, they just don't make 'em like that anymore. My Best Friend's Closet

Hey there friends! Been a lil' minute. Hope you've all been in high spirits.   Well, let me begin by saying Happy November! I know I sound like a broken record, but honestly, how is it MID-NOVEMBER?! Wasn't it just Summertime? Even though I'm already missing the warmer temps, I gotta admit November always reminds me to slow down and be thankful. Gratitude and Positive Thinking are key elements. I may not have everything I want, but I have everything I need, and for that I give all thanks to God.  I am a very blessed woman. I consider my lifelong friendships to be one of my life's biggest blessings. I suppose it's more like Sisterhood at this point in life💗.
